Agios Ioannis Pitsillias Gastronomy Festival

Learn the secrets of the Cypriot cuisine, tantalize your palate with unique traditional flavors and enjoy a scenery of peach, apple and cherry trees at the Gastronomy Festival in Agios Ioannis Pitsillias, a small, beautiful, picturesque village in the Troodos Mountain Range.

The Festival offers you the chance to taste Cyprus in one day. Many kiosks line up at the village square where you can taste and buy traditional local delicacies such as Trachanas soup, Palouzes (creamy desert; grape juice mixed with flour), Halloumi cheese, cured meats, Resi (wheat with meat dish), Glyka tou koutaliou (spoon sweet preserves), warm Cyprus bread, wine, Zivania (a distilled beverage) and much more.

Don’t miss the cooking demonstration by the Michelin starred Cypriot chef Andreas Mavrommatis, who comes from Agios Ioannis village. He will present new recipes based on local products.

The festival also features traditional music and dancing.

Make the most of your visit in Agios Ioannis by visiting the church of Archangel Michael and the Church museum that remain open during the festival.
