The houses were built in for the needs of the Forestry Department civil servants and their families. They were part of a forestry village where families were living constantly since distances were too large to cover and there were no transport means or roads.
Access only by private car: 2.5 hrs from Nicosia and Limassol, 1.5 hrs from Paphos, 1 hr from Polis Chrysochous.
Nature and surroundings
Stavros tis Psokas is situated in the heart of the Paphos Forest Inside the Paphos National Forest Park as it was the central Forest Station and headquarters of the fire and wood supply station, connecting with Fire Stations all in 10km distance and scattered in a circle around the central station. It is situated away from villages or other built settlements. There is a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner (on pre-order arrangement), a camping site, and picnic area. There is also another type of accommodation, a hostel.
Animals around: Cyprus mouflon, eagles, foxes.. Trails connecting to other areas like Pomos, Yialia, Lysos, and Stavros tis Psokas.
Activities: hiking, trekking, cycling, etc.
